10th International Symposium on Reproductive Physiology of Fish (ISRPF)

The Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) organizes between 25th and 30th May 2014 the 10th International Symposium on Reproductive Physiology of Fish (ISRPF).

The theme of the 10th ISRPF is “Expanding the knowledge base of reproductive success: from genes to the environment”. The fishes are the most diverse group of vertebrates and display a vast diversity of reproductive modes, sexual patterns and behaviour. Knowledge about reproductive processes, associated mechanisms and interactions are the basis for understanding ecological adaptation and resource management, for developing culture systems and biotechnological applications and for the development of indicators of environmental change and biomedical models.

The 10th ISRPF will continue the tradition of a compact symposium with no parallel sessions enabling participants to attend all the invited plenary lectures and oral presentations. The ISRPFs status as the premier meeting in fish reproduction and its organisation is especially appropriate for students who are able to contact with experts in varied topics beyond their field of study. Posters will be displayed for the duration of the meeting to promote interactions and discussion. The symposium proceedings will be published in General and Comparative Endocrinology (Elsevier).
