TOPIC: In this seminar, we’ll be talking about the Marine food technology for future-Marine algae as Nature’s Sea Vegetables- Food from the sea.

 

More than three thousand years ago, consuming seaweeds were recognized as more healthy, particularly in Asia, where marine micro and macro algae (seaweeds) are still popular for their potential nutritional content. Many of the marine algae are edible, with only a very few tropical species are not edible and not suitable for human consumption.. Sea vegetables are especially useful for vegetarians and those abstaining from dairy foods because of their high levels of calcium, iron and iodine.
