Ana Grenha wins the first edition of Prémio Investigador UAlg 2022

Our researcher Ana Grenha was the winner of the first edition of the Prémio Investigador UAlg 2022. This was the first year that the University of Algarve (UAlg) awarded this prize of 5 thousand euros.

For our researcher "it is a great honor to receive this award and a recognition of the work that the team I lead has been doing at the University and at CCMAR, always with an eye on innovation and the improvement of therapeutic solutions."

At CCMAR, Ana Grenha is the leader of the Drug Delivery Lab and a member of the Marine Molecular Bioengineering group, where she is dedicated to the development of drug delivery systems (transporters) with a main focus on the inhalation (pulmonary) route. In addition, the group explore the potential of natural materials, namely polysaccharides, in the search for new therapeutic applications. The group works in a very important area with a high impact on society, having proposed therapeutic applications in the area of respiratory infections, such as tuberculosis, and recently started developing pulmonary vaccination strategies.
