Young people from all over the country come to CCMAR for a summer holiday with science
During July and August, the CCMAR laboratories were fuller than usual. This year, we welcomed 13 secondary school students from all over the country, who decided to have a different summer holiday than usual by experiencing what it is like to work in a laboratory.
The students were integrated into several research teams from different areas, where they could learn new techniques and carry out several tasks with our researchers. The summer internships are an opportunity to get to know the daily work in a laboratory or on field trips and to have a first contact with the scientific environment.
In partnership with Ciência Viva, CCMAR carried out seven summer internships, which aim to contribute to the future career choice of these young people. All the safety measures established by DGS were fulfilled.
Next year CCMAR will open again vacancies for summer internships, where we hope to receive more students who are in search of new knowledge!
