Climate and Fisheries

Understanding the biological and social impacts of climate change on fisheries is key to identifying management approaches that are adaptive to potential climate change scenarios. Our researchers develop multidisciplinary frameworks to understand those impacts, focusing on stock distribution, stock adaptive potential and environmental drivers of population abundance. In particular, we are developing a vulnerability framework (based on exposure, sensitivity and adaptive capacity) that will enable the assessment of individual species/fisheries vulnerability to climatic change.
