Widening Experiences

“Building bridges in science”

A PhD is a period of professional growth. To help our candidates grow further, we promote widening experiences to enhance their international contacts, build ties to other working sectors and bridge their research with other fields of knowledge.

For our candidates to “go international”, we may activate CCMAR’s extensive international network, which includes access to European networks and Research Infrastructures.
Our collaboration agreements also include business and industry partners, which may also become our candidate’s partners in research.

We also promote inter-research groups networking activities to foster new collaborations and widen their career opportunities.

Activities

Going international

We encourage our candidates to include international collaborations in their PhD research, for which they may count with CCMAR’s international network, partners and research infrastructures.

Partnering with business and industry

An internship or partnerships with business or industry will promote research opportunities closer to the needs of industry, provide a business-like experience and bridge the gap between the candidate and potential employers.

Interacting with other research fields

Our Doctoral School will promote inter-research groups networking activities, in which candidates will be introduced to different research teams by their Principal Investigators and will have the chance to discuss their research with experts that have different points of view.
