Graduated in Marine and Fisheries Biology in 1999 and Masters degree in Marine and Coastal Studies in 2005. Since 1998 working in research activities related to the marine and coastal environment, mainly sea turtle research and conservation. Present PhD research centered at Principe Island, a recent UNESCO Biodiversity Reserve in West Africa, with the overall goal to contribute to the conservation of the marine and coastal environment of the region. By using several methodologies (nesting and in-water census, telemetry and isotopic and genetic analyses), in collaboration with other researchers, it is expected to gain a comprehensive understanding on the ecology and spatial distribution of the sea turtles at Príncipe Island habitats, beaches and waters, including their connectivity with other foraging and breeding areas.
