Our team studies patterns and processes mediating population biology from ecological to evolutionary scales. Topics include biogeographical patterns and drivers above and below species level, population dispersal/connectivity, abiotic stress-driven evolution, function variability and responses of populations and species to climatic change, reproductive ecology, and roles of glacial cycles, mating systems and hybridization in population divergence and speciation. Biological models include canopy-forming macroalgae, marine plants, invertebrates and vertebrates, using a variety of approaches, from population genetics and phylogenomics to experimental ecology and environmental genomics.
